Project Details

The two bedroom, two bathroom, 1500-square-foot beach house was built at Fire Island Pines, on the highest dune of the 26-mile-long barrier island. The living spaces are on the second floor, capturing panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Great South Bay .

The design is based on a ten-foot cubic grid organizing a variety of interior and exterior spaces, including a screen porch, roof decks, and a projecting dining room. The white-trimmed and weathered gray colors relate to the local vernacular of houses and boardwalks.

Talk about an enviable summer home. The vertical reach of this house really emphasizes the views.
