On the exterior of the barn, vernacular elements reminiscent of French-Canadian barns include the standing-seam metal gambrel roof, which is accented with cupolas, and two silos clad in sheet metal.

By far one of the most beautifully rustic houses I’ve seen. If I lived in Malibu, I’d try purchasing this home.
This is practically ideal in every way: contemporary yet rustic, efficient and attractive.
It’s nice when s house has such a unique character, even a story behind it. Here not only is the barn framework from Quebec, but more impressively it was imported from Quebec specifically for this project. The extra touches like this truly make for a house with a lasting impression.
