how bout some 'Bungalow Chi...
If you open up the pages of this month's Blueprint, you will stubble upon a lovely little bungalow, that is not only chic and cozy, but design-wise very much obtainable! Located in Greenport, New York, this little piece of heaven serves as a weekend getaway for owner Elena Colombo. So those of you still looking for beach house inspiration...do enjoy!

Love these tree trunk stools, which was a DIY project including many layers of fire-engine red enamel paint!

Other elements include a Moroccan rug from westelm.com and sofa pillows from wshome.com.

A yellow/green, blue, and white kitchen...only wish I could pull something like this off. So inviting!

Looking for a similar dining table, this one is from seabrookclassics.com, and those same chairs to go with, callled the "Holz" from dwr.com.

Love the indoor/outdoor feel of this space! Note there are no windowcoverings to give the owner clear view of Shelter Island. Shown here is a side table from mgandbw.com.

Oh Suzani...
Are Suzanis all the rage, still ?!?!? I know, I love them. I've been thinking about getting one for myself lately....probably ever since Lindsey at Blackeyedsuzies purchased one for her Master bedroom, or for that fact that they are just popping up every where in the design world. I just think they are so versitle. So, here's more on Suzanis...in case you haven't had your fill yet!!!

I'm a big fan of Madeline Weinrib Atelier, here are images from her Suzani collection.
Love this Suzani upholstered chair, featured a while back on Apartment Therapy (Chicago) , from Jayson Home and Garden.

Just perfect to use as bed coverlets, this room featured in Domino/Jan 2007.

Ebay is a great place to find them, like this one above. Leah, who always finds the best Ebay stuff, posted a similar Suzani on her blog MoreWaysToWasteTime.
Happy Friday!!! Have a good weekend :)

No beige walls here...
Do you dare to love this home as much as I do?!?! Straight from my vault of favorites is this Manhattan townhouse, designed by Wayne Nathan and Carol Egan, that showcases a classic royal style, with a twist of modern!

This home showcases a great collection of contemporary art against a bold and bright backdrop, adding such life to these spaces.

"One of the reasons we chose Wayne and Carol was that unlike some of the other designers we interviewed, they didn't suggest we gut the place and beige it all up"...

and this is certainly the case...owners Lauren Schor, and her husband, have a home now that maintains its existing royal provenance, with a more casual, liveable sense of style!

Above, vintage candlesticks designed by Christian Dior (purchased at Galerie Yves Gastou).

Above, a lithograph by Damien Hirst and vinstage candleholders by Georges Jouve.

Just love this antique four-poster in the Master Bedroom!
