Don't fear the paisley...
really, there is no reason to these days. Once there was a time when even the mention of the word paisley and body would stiffen and I'd have bouts of shortness of breath (I'm over dramatic today just so you know).

I just have a thing for this Alessandra Branca design from the Hampton's Showhouse back in '05 featured in House and Garden magazine.
A bit of a masculine twist on the print and it works quite well in the bedroom of Christopher Spitzmiller, featured in Elle Decor/Dec. '06
If it's hard to fully commit to upholstery or wallcovering, maybe try a blanket like in Windsor Smith's home featured in Domino/Aug. '07

My dreams run wild....
I'm not sure if it was because of the short vacation I was on or that it was just so nice to leave this construction zone of a home for a while...but, I had the most interesting dream two nights ago about Michael Smith. Very random, I know, and the fact that I actually remember the dream is amazing too...but I was in the SF Design Center wondering in a showroom and out of no where he appeared and said "hey you"...and I pointed to myself like in the movies, "me?!?!" Next thing I know, he's taking me around and showing me how to furnish and accessorize appropriately and offering me pointers on my projects! It was a short but sweet dream that I could only wish comes true someday. So as a tribute...here are some lessons from Michael Smith in tablescaping. Hope you enjoy!
I did have a chance to briefly meet Michael in SF and I must say that he is just so down to earth. Thank you Michael S. Smith, for your style always inspires me :)

I heart this office...
who wouldn't love Besty Brown's home office that was featured in House Beautiful magazine this month. I just think that offices need to be fun...or then it's just a drag to do any work in them. To me this space is perfect...just enough storage, a desk and a place to scatter inspiration...and that green, what a green! Although, my other half would say...of course you like it, look at all those magazines spread across the floor :)Have a great weekend!!!
