The company opened in 1986 with Cheryl Rowley and a single, part-time time assistant. Today, our team of 35 people provides full interior architectural and FFE design, production, and state-of-the-art CAD capability.

CRD designs have won multiple Gold Key Awards, as well as honors from ASID, Logding Hospitality and Interors magazines. Company work has been repeatedly published in Architectural Digest, Travel and Leisure, Hospitality Design and other notable consumer and trade magazines. Cheryl Rowley was named to the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle in 1999.
Recent company clients include Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group and the Ritz Carlson Hotel and Company.

Using architecture for its order and form, CRD desins frequently combine and disaparate decor – styles, schools and centuries – to find drama, passion and fun. It is in the fashioning of the mix between architecture and ornamentation – and in the sweep and subtitles, the contrasts and blends – that the interior becomes singularly Cheryl Rowley.
But fearless does not mean reckless. While we strive to provice a memorable, even unforgetable design experience, we also believe that good design is about welcoming, not about challenging. Whatever its style, each of our interiors is built to be lived in; comfort is fundamental to CRD design.

Every Cheryl Rowley Design project is shaped individually, and each is built upon a central concept, a unifying idea.
Developed first by listening – listening to the client, the culture and the environment – this single creative concept expresses the spirit of the property, and becomes the essense of the design. As the basis for all that follows, it’s the foundation for the vital feeling of authenticity, the beginning of an honest sense of place.
